I’ve been installing and updating, installing and updating, surfing and browsing, surfing and browsing for more Blogs/Knowledge/Binaries for much of this week - all in a bid to get my new macbook pro in a usable state. It turns out that in doing so a surprisingly HUGE amount of time is wasted by the Great IT Conspiracy (GITC).

I’m thoroughly pissed off with the Wanky Wired World and will be going outside into the ‘Real World’ for the first time in months - right now - in order to cool off. When I get back, i;m starting on my expose blog-post on the GITC.

Well i’ve been using my new OS X machine for a few days now - and I;m warming to it. Much still to be discovered and a lot to get used to but in fairness to the chaps and chappettes of Cupertino - so far, so not too bad.

I’m sure I’ll get back tot the whole switching saga in other posts, but it’s time for normal service to resume. There is life First and Second beyond Null and to celebrate I went out potting last night for the first time in two weeks. Here’s what I threw…

A cold day in Hell…

Not only is this blog risen again, but I hereby give public notice of the fact that I will shortly be entering into the Church of Jobs.

While you get back onto your chair… let me quickly add that my entry into the Blessed Congregation of St. Steve’s Switchers has largely come about through a conflagration of unforseen circumstances that conspired to prevent me from buying a new wintel notebook. Whilst some of the Believers may see this as a Sign from upon Most High, know this: in my heart I remain unrepentant.

Though I have not yet received my 17-inch Macbook Pro, verily I can hear the familiar Gates of Hell slowly close behind me. A long and hard struggle lies ahead as I endeavour to acquaint myself with the workings of the Miracle OS. The stories told by mac-heretics all over the Web about the Macbook Pro’s radiant heat, angelically limp keyboard and poor Quality Control do little to inspire great confidence.

Nonetheless, I pray that the Silicon Gods will see fit to let me, a mere organic mortal, persevere into the Light of Digital Salvation and that I will merit at least 18 months of carefree computing with my new Device of the Apple.
